To help build community preparedness at ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓÆµµ¼º½, Emergency Management offers multiple training opportunities for faculty and staff throughout the year. Registration for ²ÝÝ®ÎÛÊÓÆµµ¼º½ courses is managed through Enterprise Learning and free of charge.

Own your personal safety and learn how to respond to threats and active assailant situations. We’ll cover important information about resources in place to ensure students, faculty, staff and guests are safe in our community.

Learn to effectively use the 80+ Stop the Bleed Kits located across campus, and empower yourself to save a life during an uncontrolled bleeding emergency.

This hands-on training session uses theatrical blood and wound simulators, and rehearses scenarios that some people may find upsetting — use discretion when choosing to participate and wear appropriate clothing.  

Prerequisite: Personal Safety Awareness Training 

Online delivery

Know how to prevent fires and be ready if a fire breaks out. Fire Safety Training teaches common causes of fire in the workplace, hazards to look out for, emergency procedures and how to respond when faced with a fire. You will also learn to recognize the different types of fires and fire extinguishers.

Learn to recognize and respond to the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and be prepared to save a life.

Please note this training is for personal use only. Employees are not required to administer naloxone as part of their job duties.

Ready Calgary is a community preparedness program developed by the Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA). It has been designed to inform, educate and build resiliency to the impacts of emergencies. The course encourages safety at home, in the workplace, neighbourhood and community.
